I am a cultural anthropologist who studies how belief, lived experience, and meaning-making shape health, identity, and access to care. My work is grounded in a simple but powerful premise: health is never biological alone – it is cultural, relational, and deeply human.
I have collaborated with partners at the American Indian Health Research and Education Alliance since 2014.
My experience spans the entire research process including grant development, community engagement, and public scholarship.
My research uses an ethnographic approach and centers on three interconnected areas:
- Anomalous Experiences and Health
- Indigenous Health and Community-Based Research
- Religion, Belief, and Lived Experience
I also co-host two podcasts:
Both explore religion, culture, and the unexplained from an anthropological perspective.
When I’m not researching or recording, I can usually be found lost in a good book, gardening with my wife, or chasing our two kids.
